The competent teacher understands and uses appropriate formative and summative assessments for determining student needs, monitoring student progress, measuring student 6 growth, and evaluating student outcomes. The teacher makes decisions driven by data about curricular and instructional effectiveness and adjusts practices to meet the needs of each student.
Test Analysis Project: This project was a requirement of AEDU 303- Educational Psychology. The purpose of the assignment was to create a 10 question quiz on one chapter from our textbook, Educational Psychology by Anita Woolfolk using Bloom's Taxonomy.

Quiz Analysis: An evaluation of the 10 responses received from the 20 point quiz on chapter 13
During the Fall semester of 2019 in Educational Psychology, AEDU303, I planned, created, administered, and then analysed a quiz on chapter 13 of the textbook Educational Psychology by Anita Woolfolk. The quiz questions I created using the higher levels of Boom’s Cognitive Taxonomy, the quiz and data from the responses were structured using google forms, and the analysis structured and evaluated based on the following. The quiz included six multiple-choice questions at the application level, two multiple choice questions at the analysis level, one essay question at the synthesis level, and one essay question at the evaluation level for a total of ten questions on the quiz. Additionally, the multiple-choice questions included three distraction answers and the essay questions were correct if the student could display reasoning behind the answer that connected to chapter 13. Further, the majority of the multiple choice questions were worth 1 point with a couple that were 2 points and one worth 3 points. Each of the essay questions were worth 4 points and the total quiz was out of 20 points. In the end the quiz was taken by both classmates, colleagues, and family for a total of ten participants. This allowed me to analyze the data through Microsoft Word to evaluate and hypothesize how the quiz went as well as how to better inform future students.
Finally, through this assessment assignment I have demonstrated the use of Standard 7 of the Illinois Professional Teaching standard “effectively uses appropriate technologies to conduct assessment, monitor performance, and assess students’ progress”. According to Professional Teaching Standard 7,“7J; uses assessment results to determine student performance levels, identify learning targets, select appropriate research-based instructional strategies, and implement instruction to enhance learning outcomes”. This was demonstrated with the use of Microsoft Word and Google Forms. I found the areas of the chapter each student needed work in and created a lesson plan that included activities for everyone which were group instruction and writing assignments. Also,“7M; maintains useful and accurate records of student work and performance” happened when I used Google docs to find Z score, T score, mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation of the entire class and each of the students’ scores. After the test I was able to give feedback to the students who asked for it to stimulate their intrinsic motivation to learn. This type of feedback addresses, "7N; accurately interprets and clearly communicates aggregate student performance data to students, parents or guardians, colleagues, and the community in a manner that complies with the requirements of the Illinois School Student Records Act [105 ILCS 10], 23 Ill. Adm. Code 375 (Student Records), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 USC 1232g) and its implementing regulations (34 CFR 99; December 9, 2008)”.
Overall, by planning, creating, administering, and analyzing the quiz's data I have learned a great deal in the content area of assessments. I have learned how to use Boom’s Cognitive Taxonomy, how to collect data on students and analyze it, as well as ways to implement new lessons to create new comprehension. I believe this assignment has given me the necessary instruction and know how to effectively administer a new way of thinking as a future elementary school educator because I used real life assignment to comprise all aspects behind educational psychology.
