In my English 1102 class, we have read this article called “Five Faces of Oppression” by Iris Marion Young. In between these five faces, I chose exploitation; Exploitation is how an individual or a mainly a group that is being treated unfairly. I put thought into how this term will reflect my research and then I thought about how women are treated in a work environment and not just any work environment, it is an environment they go against a male-dominated workplace. You see on tv that women are labeled as the housewife that stays at home with her kids waiting for her husband and that women are not eligible to manhandle a job that was made for “men.” It is hard for women in society when it comes to their own career especially when the world turns their backs on them. Even women of color have a difficult time to form their recognition due to them having a different ethnicity. Let's be honest. Ladies cause the world to go around. However, despite shuffling the majority of life's insane requests — birthing and bringing up kids, giving budgetary strength and the infrequent snapshot of unwinding — ladies are as yet treated as "not exactly" in the workforce. I want to bring attention to how women are being treated into the workforce and how gender discrimination can take a toll in the work environment.
