My name is Ashley Tryon, I am 17 years old and a senior at Nemaha Central High School. I live with my parents, brother and son in Beattie, Ks. In August of my Junior year I had my son and he has changed my life for the better. I have had to take on a big responsibility but it was worth it. In the beginning when he was a newborn I really leaned on my mom and grandma for help, but now that he is older I am fully responsible for him-he is the light of my life. I have a sister, Dana who is 22 years old, she has a son and another on the way. I have asked for her advice on a lot of things. She used to live in the same town as us but she has recently moved back to Seneca. It is nice that she is here so if I need something during the day she can help me with it.
I am a horrible student who doesn’t care a whole lot about getting my homework done. There are some teachers at the high school that remind me I need to graduate this year and will make me do my homework. When I was in ninth and tenth grade I did not care about getting anything done but since then I know I need to pass my classes so I can graduate. I do not want to be a dropout like my brother. I want to walk across that stage in May and show everyone that I did it. I had a baby and I never even missed a credit. I never had any time for any school activities such as Kays or Sadd and I am not athletic so I never went out for sports. I have never thought about going on to college since high school was so hard for me. I would like to be a nurse someday but I need to start with my CNA.
I am starting on my CNA next week which is the first step to becoming a nurse. I plan on working as CNA and pick up nursing classes in the evenings until I am able to get my nursing degree. I will not be able to take the regular route like others in my class because I have my son. So I will have to work to support us and take classes when I can. I have wanted to be a nurse since working in the care home, I want to be able to make a difference in their lives and I can do that and support us as a nurse.
If I won a million dollars the first thing I would do is move. I would travel all over the United States until I found a place I would like to settle down in. I would buy a house there and we would live there until we are ready to move again. Winning the million dollars would let me see the United States and experience all that I want to. I would be able to see what different parts of the United States are like and pick the one that is the best for me. When I am 30 Carter will be 15 and entering high school I see us living in a medium sized town like St. Louis, Missouri in a house with a big yard. We won’t have any animals because I don’t like their mess. We will be near family but not too close. I do not have problems with my family coming to visit but I do not want them to be in my business all the time.
