Ashley Luciano is a senior attending Capistrano Valley High School who discovered her passion for ceramics during her junior year. Starting in the beginners and intermediate ceramic classes, she rapidly found herself drawn to the art form, and by her senior year, she advanced to the next level. As a first-generation Mexican American, Ashley has used ceramics in a way of self-expression. Through her creations, she seeks to capture the beauty of the natural world, including each piece with complex details that encourage viewers to pause, observe, and discover something new with every glance. To Ashley, art represents more than just the finished product, it’s about the process of discovery, learning, and putting a little piece of herself into every creation. Whether sculptural or functional, she hopes her work inspires others to recognize their own potential and to believe that with creativity and determination, anything is possible.
