Meet the Author

Hello! 

My name is Ashlee, and I am a writer. Calling myself an author is still a little hard for me to do, but something I am stepping into as I have officially published my debut novella, A Flower Collection.

Three things about me: 

• I love plants - especially flowers! In fact, I have a background in Utah Native Wildflower research I conducted while earning my bachelor's degree in horticulture. I am currently working on my master's degree in environmental science and sustainability at Brigham Young University. 

• I’m studying the Russian Language and aim to become fluent someday. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to live with a host family abroad in Kyiv, Ukraine. This experience changed my life. Learning Russian started in my preparation to go to Ukraine and it continues as an effort to remain connected with my friends from Kyiv. 

• I write about everything - or better yet - to me, writing is everything.  I have a great love and appreciation for creativity and artistic expression, and I hope to show that through my writing.

Although my undergraduate degree is a bachelor's in plant sciences, I have furthered my study in literary arts through my minor in creative writing. I recently published my creative writing capstone project called, A Flower Collection. A Flower Collection is an immersive reading experience novella and package. The novella is told in vignettes from a larger writing piece Flowers and Thyme. It is anticipated that Flowers and Thyme will be published and released in December 2026. 

Additionally, I am constantly engaged in many various creative projects however, I am working on a full-length novel that I intend to publish in 2027.
