Ashish K. Mazumdar is a 5th-year Graduate Research Student at Materials Research Centre (MRC) at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, IISc.
He grew up in a very humble teachers’ family. Under the tutelage of his father, he started to like science & mathematics from the beginning. Who instilled in him a scientific temperament from the start. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science(B.Sc.) in Chemistry at Tezpur University, Assam. He did a summer research internship at IIT G with Prof. Subhendu Sekhar Bag. Also, He did a brief research stint at University of Hyderabad with Professor Jovan Jose K. V. on chiral properties of Organic molecules; he did his Master’s in chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam working with Professor Kalyan Raidongia. He then joined IIT G as a JRF fellow to investigate the conical intersection of small organic molecules with Professor G Krishnamoorthy. He has cleared various exams, like the CSIR-NET (Rank 81, Dec 2018/2019), GRE (323/340, AWA: 4, Jan 2021), and TOEFL (111/120, Feb 2020). Finally, he joined as a research fellow at IISc and now works with Professor P. Rajamalli.
