A Shepherd Follower’s Testimony
I was… A sheep without a Shepherd. In my 20s, around 2014, I was into witchcraft. I was into video games, movies and media that had to do with witchcraft. I was bitter, angry and full of hate. I hated the church and everything it stood for. I was a very bad man. I was angry and knew how to hold a grudge. I was greedy and loved money. I did not know Jesus and I didn’t know my need for Him. My life was falling apart. In 2016 I said the Sinner’s Prayer, but I was lukewarm at best and in my heart, didn’t know Jesus. I was still on the road to Hell. I lost my mother on Oct. 10th 2020. Between then and 2022, my hatred grew as did my anger. I was a mess. Then, in 2022, I finally hit rock bottom. I got so greedy that my finances had totally fallen apart. I got behind many different movements that went directly against Jesus. I was a very lost sheep. I feel as though God spit me out of his mouth because of my disobedience to Him and my lukewarmness.
Then Jesus… Two men from my old church said that Everett was a sheep without a Shepherd and they were absolutely right! Jesus became my Shepherd on September 25th 2022. On this day, my life fell completely apart. Sitting at the kitchen table, I prayed and Jesus truly became my Shepherd. In that moment I became the new man that I am today, a Shepherd follower. I was no longer on the road to Hell. I was a sheep who had finally found his Shepherd! I had accepted Jesus, and came to know who He is.
Now I am… Since September 25th 2022, I lost everything, but by God’s grace, it has all been restored. He carried me through it all. I am now walking in freedom and in love. The Shepherd has me. He holds me and always will. He has given me the gift of being able to talk to Him and hear from Him 24/7. He has released me from the desire to have anything to do with witchcraft. He has delivered me from greed and the love of money. He has taught me to be in the world but not of the world. Being a Shepherd follower became part of my DNA. On Dec. 19th 2023 I moved into the group home, where I now live. It has been such a blessing! I am honored to get to lead a Bible study group there. By the grace of God I have been delivered from the sin of holding grudges. Shepherd has brought me through so much! He has now brought me to Life Center Church and my old childhood church, St. John’s Lutheran. I can’t wait to see what He has in store for me next!
My desire to seek and follow Jesus as my Shepherd, and to be a Shepherd follower, will always be there!
