Lexia Core5 - Data Coaching

Lexia Core5 Data Coaching- Deepen your knowledge of the Lexia Core5 reports. Receive hands-on experience analyzing your data with Lexia's Data Coaching protocol and learn how to select appropriate instructional resources to target small group instruction for intervention. This session will also provide suggestions for how to celebrate student success with Lexia in your classroom.

She started her teaching career as a high school English teacher in Southern California and most recently worked as a Personalized Learning Manager where she helped school innovate educational experiences for students and teachers through personalized learning initiatives. BrainPOP - "Using BrainPOP in the Classroom”

Using BrainPOP in the Classroom -- Teachers will explore their individual educator accounts by learning to create classes, assignments, and quizzes. Teachers will gets hands-on experience using the various creation tools BrainPOP provides, such as Make-a-Map, Make-a-Movie, and Creative Coding. We will also explore the learning games and updated interactive sheets BrainPOP offers. Lastly, we will put together a lesson or unit plan incorporating BrainPOP at various levels.

I am the current trainer for Catholic Telemedia Network (CTN), the purchasing agent for many Catholic schools on the West Coast. We work in partnership with Catholic schools to purchase quality supplemental educational resources at bulk rates. In addition, we work to support all schools with implementing these resources. Prior to working at CTN, I was a Catholic school teacher for 11 years both in the SF Archdiocese and Diocese of Santa Rosa. I taught grades 5-8 and actively incorporated BrainPOP into each unit.

Engaging students and teachers in learning has been Kathy Lambert’s focus for the past 38 years. As a Mathematics Coach with Catapult Learning, she provided professional development and coaching for an impoverished at-risk schools. She has completed her Masters of Education with an emphasis in math and science instruction from the University of Utah. Her love of mathematics contributed to her being selected the first math coach in Salt Lake City school district. She has designed and taught Elementary Mathematics Endorsement classes for the Utah State Board of Education. Kathy has been an adjunct professor at Utah State University and Westminster College, teaching Special Education Math Methods and Elementary Math Methods. Kathy was presented the Muffet Reeves Award from the Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics for Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics Education Professional Development. She served on the Governor’s commission to develop the Core Standards for the state of Utah.

Lauren Casella, Ed.D. serves Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles as the Director for the Catholic School Leadership Academy and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Administration in the School of Education. Dr. Casella served in the Archdiocese of Chicago for ten years as a teacher at St. John of the Cross Parish School in Western Springs and as a teacher, administrator, and principal at The Frances Xavier Warde School. As a part time faculty member at LMU, she taught courses on curriculum and instructional leadership in teacher preparation. Additionaly, she provided ongoing support and consultation to Catholic school principals, board committees, and teacher committees focusing on the integration of social and emotional learning curriculums into area of Catholic identity and academic achievement.

As Director of the Catholic School Leadership Academy, her work focuses on supporting the spiritual, magerial, operational, and instructional leadership development of future and novice Catholic school principals from across the county in LMU's Certificate for Catholic School Administration program. Dr. Casella holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from LMU, M.A. Leadership and Supervision from Loyola University Chicago, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. She holds a valid Illinois General Administrative Credential, an Illinois Teaching License, and a California Teaching Credential & BCLAD. Lauren and her husband Matt live in Los Angeles with their four children.

Tracy Mayhue is an Educational Therapist, Consultant and Speaker serving Catholic, Independent and Public Schools. Tracy’s passion for creating schools where students and adults feel safe and can engage in practices of positive relational health. She believes principles of Social Emotional Learning impact systems of belonging and care to ensure academic excellence and roots of life success. Tracy facilitates Professional Development workshops which include Social Emotional Learning for Whole Child Well-Being, Trauma Informed Schools through Educational Neuroscience, Emotionally Intelligent Leadership practices for Inclusion and Innovation. Tracy holds a certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid and is certified in Interpersonal Neurobiology through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. Most recently Tracy served on the Administrative Leadership team of St. Anastasia Catholic School overseeing the school-wide integration of the evidence-based RULER Approach , a comprehensive SEL program from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. Additionally, Tracy led School Support teams for student success, taught Middle School Advisory and Mindfulness classes, and has a teaching background in PreK Inclusion at Los Angeles Unified’s SRLDP program. Tracy and her son Jay live in Austin, TX.

With our students more immersed than ever in digital media, how do we support them and their parents in using these tools for good while avoiding the pitfalls and dangers that often accompany them?
