All Saints Elementary of Tipperary Hill is celebrating its 20th year!
We are proud to announce that All Saints Elementary of Tipperary Hill is celebrating its twenty-year anniversary! This could only have been accomplished with God’s good grace, the dedication of staff and board of directors over the years, as well as the generous parents and benefactors. We thank God and each one of you!
With just months of planning and a leap of faith, on September 6, 2006, ASE opened its doors for students from pre-k through sixth grade including afterschool care. Our beginning enrollment included 32 students, 15 pre-k and 11 teachers. Just six years later in 2012, we were touted by the Post-Standard Newspaper, “100 Students Strong”. We now have educated students from Syracuse, Liverpool, North Syracuse, Onondaga Central, Westhill, West Genesee, Fulton, Baldwinsville, and Solvay school districts.
Our founding administrators, Principal Mrs. Pollman and Director of Operations Mr. Angiolillo, welcomed our very first students. Mrs. Pollman was known for her motto following daily school prayers and Pledge of Allegiance, “Now go to your class and try to do your very best.” Mrs. Pollman shared, “I wanted All Saints to be a successful neighborhood Christian elementary school. If doing the paperwork and office jobs freed the teachers to fulfill their professional responsibilities effectively, then I would be principal. After thirteen years, I felt a younger, energetic, intelligent, and enthusiastic replacement had been found. Thank God for Grace Glennon.”
Founder and Director of Operations Mr. Steve Angiolillo shares why he was called to open a school on Tipperary Hill. “God has always been at the center, that’s just a product of my upbringing. We prayed together as a family. Having always attended Catholic schools, to me prayer and school go hand in hand. What better place than school to begin what I like to call ‘a lifelong conversation with God’. After all, Jesus was a teacher! Beginning and ending the school day with prayer, frames it perfectly. The fact that we all gather together helps build a sense of family. I like to think that when we paused for our own prayer intentions, the kids took that to heart and started their own little conversation. Why? Because God wanted me to. That’s why. So many signs and answered prayers along the way.”
It is exciting to share that Mrs. Glennon, Mrs. Price, Mr. McDermott and Mr. McClelland are also celebrating their twenty-year anniversary in service to the students of All Saints Elementary.
Mrs. Glennon has served as principal since 2019, and now brings with her over twenty years of dedicated commitment to education. “Over the past 20 years, I have had the honor of instilling the love of learning into countless children, collaborating with and guiding some of the best teachers I have had the pleasure of meeting, and working together with wonderful families. All Saints is truly a family, and will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Mrs. Price reflects on her decision to join our team and what drew her to our school community, “To choose heart and family. I teach all the NYS benchmarks but am able to foster learning in my own creative way.”
Mr. McDermott, a member of our board of directors, greets the children each morning. He too has been with the school for these past twenty years. "Mr. Walt" shares that he is inspired by the wonderful staff, parents and children. "I learn everyday listening to others and discover how they adapt to challenges. I am amazed how people rise to the occasion. We find a way to get it all done. It takes all of us. I am blessed to be part of something unique, and what others said was the impossible. I seriously think this endeavor was inspired by God. So many miracles, this must be the direct hand of God."
Through the years, ASE students have performed nearly forty musical concerts under the direction of Mr. McClelland. He shares why he continues this tradition, “Growing up at St. Brigid’s Parish, I remember the happiness of singing with the entire school and the bonds it formed between us that we still have to this day. It’s a blessing for me to be able to work musically with these children of today. I see the joy their singing brings to their families and community. It’s my hope these children will grow up with happy memories of our school and pass on the hopes and promises of Our Lord Jesus Christ to their children and generations to come."
Mr. McClelland leads students in song at Stone Throwers’ Park on St. Patrick’s Day.
We are proud that our school has been the educational foundation to the successes of our many alumni. Students have continued onto Bishop Ludden, CBA, homeschool or their district middle schools. Please note that our oldest alumnus can only be thirty years of age 😊These older graduates have continued their higher education at institutions such as Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Fordham University, St. John Fisher, St. Joseph’s University and SUNY Binghamton to name a few. Exciting to share, one alumna is presently attending graduate studies at Trinity College, Dublin, where another while completing his senior year of college also completed his third summer as a production manager in the music industry. Other graduates have already joined the workforce as business owners, teachers, nurses and administrative assistants. Others have joined the armed services, the local fire department and the technical trades. We are very proud of you all and pray for your continued success!
All Saints Elementary of Tipperary Hill Graduation Class of 2025!
Community has been a part of our rich history such as our Thanksgiving food drive, the Penny March for the Sisters of St. Joseph, Earth Day clean ups, joining with Tipp Hill Association in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in song at the Stone Throwers’ Park, and simple but beautiful, annually beautifying Tipperary Hill by planting flowers. To strengthen community within our All Saints’ family, we have come together for neighborhood treasure hunts, family picnics, the Walkathon of Saints, Variety Shows, Halloween Parades, bingo nights, school dances, and marching in the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
It has been through our annual fundraisers and generous benefactors that we successfully begin our twentieth year. We ask you to join us, or continue to join us, in our biggest fundraisers including our ASE Silent Auction for all your Christmas shopping and our annual Tipp Hill Sweepstakes each February on Super Bowl weekend. We continue to partner with SaveAround coupon books, another great gift idea. Remember your mother, wife or loved one in our Mother’s Day plant sale. And lastly, watch out for our smaller but helpful fundraisers by ordering dinners and desserts at Red Robin, Tully’s Good Times, Chipotle, Panera and Luv Handlz on designated days. ASE calendar.
Since our founding, we pray to have lived our mission in every decision and for every family:
As a faith-filled Catholic community, we at All Saints work together with parents to help each child reach his or her full potential. We take great pride in providing a learning environment that nurtures the growth of each student in mind, body and spirit.
We have tried in humble ways to live this mission through daily prayers, monthly Mass, religion class, Christmas Spirit Week, May Crowning, and again, our community outreach.
Thank you to the parents who had faith in us and do have faith in us. Thank you to past and present administrators, teaching staff and volunteers, board of directors and benefactors. May God bless you for the sacrifices you have made to serve His children.
We are overjoyed and blessed that we begin our 20th year. We are excited to invite you to our celebrations throughout this school year. Keep up to date with us on Facebook .
In Christ,
Mrs. Grace Glennon
