Aseem R. Sharma

नमस्ते /Namastē/ Hello,

Welcome to my site!

I am a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Canada Wildfire (Natural Resources Canada and the University of Alberta). I am interested in understanding how climate variability and atmospheric dynamics influence surface hydro-climatology, extreme climate events, and wildfires.

Currently, I am investigating the role of atmospheric blocking on wildfires in western North America and lightning occurrences and wildfires across Canada. Besides, I have worked on Atmospheric Rivers, climate change and their impacts, especially on the mountainous region of Himalayas and the Canadian Rockies, and climate change risk assessments.

On this page, you will find details about my research works, CV, and useful links to data and tools I often use in my research.
