Emmett Aschim II is a guitarist and composer pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Montana State University, specializing in classical guitar and composition. Emmett’s compositional work spans solo, ensemble, and electroacoustic repertoire. Emmett's worked is focused on the motto "sound for sound's sake". He has primarily studied composition with Dr. Gregory Young and Dr. Benjamin Fuhrman.
As a performer, Emmett presents works that often engage with interdisciplinary and experimental contexts. He has participated in masterclasses and workshops with leading performers in contemporary guitar and composition, focusing on refining tone, precision, and expressive nuance. Emmett has primarily studied performance with Dr. Luis Milan and Professor Michael Videon
Beyond composition and performance, Emmett conducts research on contemporary and experimental music practices, including the study of acoustic and spectral sound translation. He plans to pursue graduate studies to further develop his compositional voice, explore new sonic possibilities, and expand his work in both acoustic and electronic media.
