Effective Date: May 30, 2025
Welcome to Ascent: Path to Prosperity (the "App"), developed by Andy Lojas ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our App.
1. Information We Do Not Collect Directly
We want to be clear: Ascent: Path to Prosperity does not directly collect, store, or transmit any personal data from you. Your game progress, settings, and any in-app data related to your gameplay are stored locally on your device only and are not sent to us or any servers we control.
2. Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)
To support the development and free availability of Ascent: Path to Prosperity, we use Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the App. Google AdMob is a third-party service, and its data collection and use practices are governed by Google's own privacy policies.
a. How Google AdMob Collects and Uses Information:
Google AdMob may collect and use information to provide personalized or non-personalized advertisements. This information may include, but is not limited to:
* Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID/IDFA, if permission is granted)
* IP address
* Information about your interactions with ads shown in the App
* Device information (e.g., device type, operating system version)
* Coarse location information (e.g., country or city), if permitted
b. Consent Management (User Messaging Platform - UMP SDK):
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and other relevant jurisdictions, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. The UMP SDK will present you with a consent form to gather your preferences regarding the collection and use of data for personalized advertising. You can typically manage your consent choices through this platform or your device settings.
c. App Tracking Transparency (ATT):
For users on iOS 14.5 and later, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before allowing Google AdMob to collect identifiers (like the IDFA - Identifier for Advertisers) that can be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for the purpose of serving personalized ads. Your choice (Allow or Ask App Not to Track) will determine if the IDFA is shared with Google AdMob.
d. Purpose of Data Collection by Google AdMob:
The information collected by Google AdMob is used for purposes such as:
* Serving relevant advertisements (personalized or non-personalized based on your consent and settings).
* Measuring the effectiveness of advertisements.
* Limiting the number of times you see the same ad.
* Detecting and preventing fraud and invalid ad traffic.
3. Your Choices and Control
You have choices regarding the collection of information for advertising:
UMP Consent: You can make or change your consent choices for personalized advertising through the consent form presented by the UMP SDK.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14.5+, you can grant or deny permission for tracking via the ATT prompt. You can typically change this setting later in your device's Settings app (Privacy > Tracking).
Device Settings: You can often limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier through your mobile device's settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
Google's Ad Settings: You can learn more about Google's advertising practices and manage your ad preferences by visiting Google's Ad Settings page.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information within our App (such as your locally stored game data). However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Data collected by Google AdMob is subject to Google's security practices.
5. Children's Privacy
Ascent: Path to Prosperity is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, we will take steps to remove such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
