By playing Ascended UO, using our website, downloading our client package, creating an account, purchasing membership, or interacting with our AI companion systems, you agree to the following terms, expectations, and responsibilities.
Age and Legal Eligibility
By using Ascended UO, you confirm that you are legally permitted to access online game services and AI companion features in your location.
You also confirm that you are over the applicable digital age of consent required to use online services, AI chat systems, and any optional membership features. If you are not legally old enough to use these services in your location, you may not use Ascended UO.
Regardless of where you are located, your use of Ascended UO is governed by the laws and requirements applicable to the server operator in the United States. You agree not to use the server, website, client package, Discord, payment systems, or AI companion features in any way that violates United States law or the laws of your own jurisdiction.
Fictional Content Notice
Ascended UO is a fictional online roleplaying game. All characters, companions, NPCs, creatures, stories, relationships, dialogue, and events are fictional.
AI companions are not real people. They are fictional characters generated for entertainment, roleplay, storytelling, and immersion. You understand that companion dialogue is simulated and should not be treated as real-world advice, consent, therapy, professional guidance, or communication from an actual person.
Community Terms
Ascended UO is built around creativity, adventure, and community. Players are expected to treat each other with basic respect.
You agree not to:
Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse other players.
Use hate speech, slurs, discriminatory language, or targeted attacks.
Promote violence, exploitation, or illegal activity.
Impersonate staff, other players, companies, or public figures.
Use protected intellectual property, trademarks, copyrighted names, or restricted terms in a way that misrepresents ownership, endorsement, or affiliation.
Exploit bugs, automation, duping, packet manipulation, or unintended mechanics.
Disrupt the server, website, community spaces, or other players’ experience.
Use the server or AI systems to create, request, distribute, or encourage illegal or harmful content.
Staff may warn, mute, suspend, ban, rename characters/items, remove content, revoke AI access, or restrict access at their discretion when behavior harms the server, community, or legal safety of the project.
Ethics and Player Responsibility
Ascended UO gives players freedom, customization, and powerful systems. With that freedom comes responsibility.
You agree to play ethically, respect the work of others, and avoid behavior that damages the game world or community. This includes avoiding scams, abuse of mechanics, targeted harassment, or any attempt to harm another player’s account, device, privacy, or enjoyment of the game.
You are responsible for your own account security, password choices, downloaded files, third-party tools, macros, and in-game actions. Staff may assist when possible, but you remain responsible for how your account is used.
AI Companion Usage
Ascended UO includes AI-powered companion features. These systems are designed for roleplay, immersion, personality, storytelling, and player entertainment.
You are responsible for your own conversations and use of AI features.
We do not actively monitor, review, or observe private companion conversations as a normal practice. However, AI usage may be subject to technical logging, provider-side processing, moderation, abuse investigation, payment-provider requirements, legal compliance, or emergency review when necessary.
Because of that, you agree not to use AI companions or related features to:
Generate, request, or distribute illegal content.
Harass, threaten, exploit, groom, manipulate, or abuse real people.
Produce hate speech, extremist content, or targeted abuse.
Create sexual content involving minors, real people without consent, coercion, exploitation, or any non-consensual scenario.
Share private, confidential, financial, medical, legal, or identifying information.
Attempt to bypass safety systems, exploit the AI provider, reverse engineer prompts, or use the feature for malicious activity.
Violate applicable laws, platform rules, AI provider policies, Discord rules, payment-provider policies, or server rules.
AI responses may be fictional, inaccurate, unexpected, or inappropriate. AI companions are not real people, professionals, therapists, legal advisors, medical advisors, financial advisors, or emergency services. Do not rely on AI companion dialogue for real-world decisions.
Expanded AI Features
Some optional AI personality modes may allow broader fictional roleplay. Access to these features may be restricted, revoked, or limited at staff discretion.
By using any expanded AI feature, you confirm that you are legally eligible to access that type of content and that you will use it only for lawful fictional roleplay involving fictional characters. You may not use these systems to create illegal sexual content, exploitative content, real-person abuse, non-consensual scenarios, or content involving minors.
Privacy and Safety
Do not share passwords, payment details, addresses, private messages, personal documents, financial information, medical information, legal information, or sensitive personal details with AI companions, other players, or staff unless absolutely necessary for support.
Membership and AI access exist to support server operating costs and AI token usage. Membership does not grant ownership of game assets, intellectual property, server systems, AI models, companion data, or any protected third-party property.
Membership and Payments
Core gameplay remains available without membership. Membership is optional and focused on expanded AI companion usage, message limits, and AI personality access.
Membership does not sell in-game gold, items, power, progression, protected game content, or ownership of any intellectual property.
Payments may be processed by third-party providers. By purchasing membership, you also agree to follow the terms and requirements of the payment provider used at checkout.
No Affiliation
Ascended UO is an independent private server project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Electronic Arts, Broadsword, Origin Systems, Ultima Online, or any related rights holder.
All referenced trademarks and intellectual property belong to their respective owners.
