This shop is in Twin Lakes Village, a few doors down from the general store, and is owned by our "neighbors" JR and Misty. The store sells various food items as well local crafts.
Twin Lakes
The Twin Lakes General Store is a favorite place to shop for souvenirs, t-shirts, stickers, etc. It is on the right side as you enter the village on Highway 82.
Around the corner from the general store is the Shooting Star Gallery, a local artist co-op. They feature all kinds items from local artists from photography prints to jewelry to paintings.
Buena Vista is a quaint town with beautiful views of the Collegiate Peaks. There is a wide variety of shops including everything from outdoor gear to souvenirs.
BV is about 20 miles from the cabin; head south on Highway 24 and the first town you come to is Buena Vista. Turn left onto E. Main St. for the majority of the shops.
Leadville is an old mining town and has the distinction of being the city with the highest elevation in the state. There are lots of nice shops including antiques, clothing, souvenirs, and more.
Leadville is about 20 miles from the cabin; head north on Highway 24 and the first town you come to is Leadville. The shopping is primarily on Highway 24/Harrison St.
There are so many great restaurants in Buena Vista and Leadville! Personal favorites in BV are Simple Eatery, House Rock Kitchen, and Buena Viking in BV. Our favorite place to get ice cream is Stedman's at the Shell station, but there are several other options in town such as Louie's, K's, and Swift River (which is a combo ice cream/souvenir shop).
In Leadville, our favorites are High Mountain Pies and Tacos La Mina, but there are many others we haven't yet visited.
