ASCANX Privacy Policy

ASCANX ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ASCANX mobile application (the "App"), a property and hostel rental platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), and password when you sign up or log in.

• Profile and photos: profile photo, property photos, and identity document (CNIC) images when you verify your account or list properties.

• Location: property addresses and map coordinates (e.g. when you list a property). If you choose "Use my current location," we collect your device's location only to set the property pin on the map so tenants can find the property. We do not track your location continuously.

• Payment-related data: The app does not collect or process rent. Monthly vouchers are payment reminders only; tenants and owners pay rent using their own accounts and preferred methods. The app only facilitates a one-time booking fee (e.g. 10% of the first payment). There is no integrated payment gateway: users pay the booking fee to the account shown in the app (e.g. via bank transfer or mobile money). We collect and use transaction IDs and payment status only to verify that the booking fee was paid. We do not store your full card or bank account numbers. We may read SMS messages related to payment (e.g. transaction ID from your bank or mobile money provider) only to verify the booking fee payment.

• Communications: in-app chat messages and voice messages between you and other users (tenants, owners).

• Usage and device data: device identifiers and similar data used for push notifications and app functionality.

2. How we use your information

We use the information to provide the App (e.g. account management, property listings, bookings, booking fee verification, chat, verification), to send you push notifications, to improve our services, and to comply with applicable law. We do not collect or process rent; monthly vouchers are reminders only.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers that help us run the App (e.g. hosting, push notifications). We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored in a secure, hashed form.

5. Your choices

You can update your profile in the App. You can request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us or via: https://sites.google.com/view/ascanx/data-account-deletion
