ASBURY MEDIA FALL 2024 Newsletter
Greetings from ASBURY MEDIA,
We hope all is well for you and yours and wanted to let you know that we have added Dolby Atmos and Apple Spatial Audio mastering to our existing services.
We have recently installed a 7.1.4 speaker set up that provides a critical listening environment for optimizing releases designated for emergent immersive formats.
We also wanted to introduce you to our current engineering staff:
Andy Bova - Audio & Mastering Engineer has been involved with Asbury Media since 2007. He is an active musician, music teacher and the owner/operator of Simple Sound Studio in Oceanport where he has engineered and co-produced many well known bands and artists such as Church and State (with Jon Stewart), Rick Barry, Lowlight, No Wine For Kittens, and Dentist among others.
Tim Pannella - Audio & Mastering Engineer has enjoyed a prolific career as an audio engineer, musician and educator. Cutting his teeth and many records in some of NYC's top studios, Tim was heavily involved with Lakehouse Recording Studios in Asbury Park from the beginning and worked closely with famed architect and acoustician John Storyk to bring the facility to life. He has worked with a diverse array of artists such as Ray LaMontagne, Brian Fallon, The Bouncing Souls, The Front Bottoms, The Parlor Mob, Brigades, The Haunting, Nicole Atkins, Beach Slang, Westbound Train, and members of Wilco, Paramore, Sum41, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bad Religion, and Minor Threat to name a few. He is currently a faculty member at the OCVTS Grunnin Performing Arts Academy in Toms River, NJ where he leads the Audio Technology program.
James Sleeman - Dolby Atmos & Apple Spatial Audio Engineer - James Sleeman is a young audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter from Neptune, NJ. His main focus is on recording, mixing, and mastering of music to the highest quality. Recently he dove into the new world of mixing music for Dolby Atmos and Apple Spatial Audio. Highlights this far have included assisting Steve Greenwell with the Atmos mixes for Joss Stone’s Christmas album “Merry Christmas, Love”. James also edits podcasts for Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and NCCAkron - two esteemed institutions in the Performing Arts world of Dance. Here is a discography (http://www.jamessleeman.com/music) link highlighting some of the projects James has worked on.
Our engineering staff proudly adheres to the guidance and sound principles set forth by Tom Ruff - Owner and Founder of ASBURY MEDIA. As most of you know, Tom is a three time GRAMMY Award winning mastering engineer who founded ASBURY MEDIA in 2006 and has previously held senior positions at Sony Music, and PolyGram (Universal).
As for me, I have been with Asbury Media since 2007 and I am thrilled to be serving in my new role as our Director of Studio Operations. Please reach out to me at any time to schedule a listening session and hear the difference that only a properly equipped and dedicated mastering facility can provide. We look forward to helping you cultivate the most professional and best sounding releases possible. In fact we invite you to:
