The Engineering Honors Program is a collection of high-achieving engineering students who are committed to developing technical excellence and making the most out of the educational experiences provided at the University of Michigan. We are highly motivated students who aspire to be the leaders and best in not just the different degrees we are pursuing but in the communities and groups we are involved with.
The Honors Program has two outreach opportunities, the Alternative Spring Break (ASB) and the summer Global Outreach (GO). These two programs allow students to volunteer at different sites and help the local community through different projects. This portfolio is aimed at capturing the Honors ASB 2022 trip!
This year, 9 students from the Honors Program volunteered at different community sites in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Honors Program worked with the Community Collaborations International (CCI) which provides environmental, disaster relief, and human service projects for volunteer teams. The Honors Program worked with this organization in specific because of previous successful collaborations and the network of resources/contacts CCI provides.
