Welcome! ​I am an applied economist interested in public economics.

My present research focuses on two directions: i. the political economy of the welfare states, and ii. the design of tax and transfer systems in low-capacity environments. Additionally i have policy interest in fiscal policy especially in the Eurozone countries.

I currently work as Deputy Head of Department of Public Finance and Corporate Taxation at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Germany.

I am board member of the Armenian Economic Association, and an affiliate of CESifo Research Network.

According to RePEc, I ranked in 2022 among the top 1% of young economists with 10 or fewer years of research activity.
