PRESIDENT JOHNSTON NOMINATES SENATORS TO FILL VACANCIES IN THE ASA SENATE

President Annie Johnston has nominated John Mortrude, Elijah Schipper, and Ian Kelly to fill recent vacancies in the Augustana Student Association Senate.
John Mortrude has been nominated to replace Afomiya Dejene as First-Year Senator. Elijah Schipper has been nominated to replace Avery Gilman as Fourth-Year Senator, and Ian Kelly has been nominated to replace Domanic Dick as Fourth-Year Senator.
Mortrude and Schipper will serve on the Curriculum Committee while Kelly will serve on the Finance Committee.
The nominees will require confirmation by a two-thirds majority vote in the ASA Senate, with the vote scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 9.
President Johnston expressed confidence in the nominees.
The vacancy for Asian Student Organization's (ASO) affinity seat created by the resignation of Senator Anushra Shrestha is yet to be filled. President Johnston has tasked Vice President Adhikari to consult with the ASO's leadership to determine the nominee.
