At the Asami Laboratory, Semiconductor Science Program, Faculty of Engineering, University of Miyazaki, we conduct research on renewable energy systems utilizing sunlight. Our work covers a wide range of topics, including:
development of ultra-high-efficiency solar cells based on compound semiconductor quantum structures,
low-cost fabrication of high-efficiency solar cells through novel germanium (Ge) crystal growth techniques,
characterization and durability enhancement of wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells,
research on thermoradiative diodes for innovative space power systems, and
development of hybrid solar-powered systems combining photovoltaic generation, thermal water heating, and battery storage for disaster recovery support.
Through these studies, we aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
