Originally from Pakistan, I moved to the USA in the Fall of 2017 to pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My research focused on designing intelligent and cyber-secure control systems for inverter-based cyber-physical systems. During my Ph.D. studies, I interned at Idaho National Laboratory and Dominion Energy, working on power system modeling and dynamic behavior characterizations using PMU data.
I developed a strong passion for renewable energy integration, aiming to create sustainable and efficient power networks. After completing my Ph.D. in Spring 2022, I joined EATON, an intelligent power management company. As a Lead Engineer in Modeling and Simulation at the Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) Center of Excellence in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, and Dubai, UAE, I contributed to the development of a global Energy Management System by designing optimization and forecasting algorithms using data from various microgrid sites.
Outside of work, I am an avid runner and enjoy running along natural trails most mornings. I also love traveling and hope to visit a new country every year. I am always open to new experiences, cultures, and perspectives
