Ascend is a visual effects short film exploring the theme of Gigantophobia — the fear of enormous beings and overwhelming scale. The narrative follows a group of young adults who, after trespassing into a forbidden area, are thrust into a vast and alien world where everything towers over them. Reduced to the size of insects, they must confront their deepest fears and fight for survival in a place that defies logic and mercy. Ascend combines psychological tension with immersive world-building to deliver a gripping cinematic experience of scale, fear, and escape.

As part of our Animation and Visual Effects course, I worked on a fun and experimental project that involved creating a stop-motion style short film using frame-skip techniques and visual effects. The project was both challenging and engaging, offering hands-on experience in video editing, creative transitions, and post-production effects. It sparked my interest in motion design and opened up new avenues for future exploration in visual storytelling.
