About me: I serve as the Faculty Coordinator for Northwestern’s Annual DataFest, hosted by the Department of Statistics and Data Science in collaboration with the American Statistical Association (ASA).
🌍 What is DataFest?
DataFest is an international data analysis competition organized by the ASA and hosted at universities worldwide. Students receive a large, complex dataset based on a real-world challenge and, over the course of one weekend, apply their skills in data modeling, analysis, and machine learning to develop solutions.
The focus is on collaboration:
Students work in teams of 2–5.
They receive guidance from graduate students, faculty, and industry professionals serving as mentors.
Whether a beginner or an advanced student, participants gain valuable experience and exposure.
🤝 Beyond the Competition
DataFest also creates opportunities for career growth and networking.
At NU DataFest 2025, we hosted an exclusive career panel and résumé review with Capital One.
Professionals from leading organizations—including McKinsey & Company, Ventas REIT, and Lurie Children’s Hospital—joined as mentors, judges, and panelists.
