Dr. Arvind Kumar currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, India. Prior to this, he held a faculty position at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, from 2020 to 2022. He earned his Ph.D. in Microwave and RF Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in 2019.
He was awarded the prestigious Young Faculty Research Fellowship (YFRF) by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, in 2025, and received the Young Professionals Excellence Award from WAMS Society and IEEE APS at IIITDM Kancheepuram in the same year. His research excellence has earned him global recognition as one of Stanford University’s "Top 2% Scientists in the World" for four consecutive years (2021–2024).
In 2024, he was honored with the Scientific High-Level Visiting Fellowship (SSHN) by the Government of France, allowing him to undertake a short-term research stay at the University of Rennes–IETR. His accolades also include the MeitY Fellowship, DST Young Scientist Awards (2018 and 2022), and the EuCAP-2019 Student Grant (Poland). He has been a recipient of multiple travel grants from DST (ITS), MeitY, and CSIR during 2018–2023.
Additionally, he was selected for the DST-SERB International Research Experience program (2022–2023), supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE, actively contributing to the global research community in antennas and RF/microwave systems.
