Dr. Arvind Mukundan 

Dr. Arvind Mukundan is an internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Smart Care and Medical Technology Research, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan. He has been recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (2024–2025) by Stanford University for his outstanding scholarly contributions in the fields of hyperspectral imaging, biomedical optics, artificial intelligence, and aerospace engineering. His pioneering work focuses on developing advanced imaging algorithms and integrating optical sensing with deep learning to revolutionize non-invasive disease diagnosis, environmental surveillance, and counterfeit detection systems. Dr. Mukundan obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from CCU (Taiwan, 2023), where his research laid the foundation for next-generation hyperspectral imaging systems capable of detecting early-stage esophageal and skin cancers. He also holds an M.S. in Instrumentation from Lulea University of Technology (Sweden) and a B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (India). Further expanding his interdisciplinary expertise, he is pursuing an MBA at SASTRA University (India), emphasizing innovation management and strategic decision-making in high-tech industries. With over 70 peer-reviewed journal publications, 19 international conference papers, 4 patents, and 2 book chapters, his research has garnered more than 1100 citations and an h-index of 18, reflecting his significant scientific impact. Dr. Mukundan has received several prestigious honors, including the Young Scholars’ Innovative R&D Award (2022) and the Young Researcher Award (2023). He serves as a Guest Editor for the special issues “New Advances in Hyperspectral and Multispectral Imaging for Disease Diagnosis” in Diagnostics and “Recent Trends and Advancements in Hyperspectral Imaging for Cancer Detection” in Frontiers in Immunology. His visionary projects—spanning AI-assisted imaging, semiconductor innovation, and sustainable space design—underscore his commitment to bridging fundamental research and technological application to address global challenges in healthcare, environment, and aerospace systems.
