I am a theoretical particle physicist interested in astroparticle physics, non-perturbative quantum field theory and machine learning applications in high-energy physics.
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics  at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune. From 2022 to 2025, I also served as Associate Dean (Academics, Graduate Studies). Before joining IISER as a faculty member, I was a post-doctoral associate at the New High Energy Theory Centre, Rutgers University, and a Chandrasekhar fellow and Sidney Bloomenthal fellow for my graduate studies at the Enrico Fermi Institute, University of Chicago. Additional information is available in my curriculum vitae and list of publications.
I offer semester projects to IISER Pune students in the 4th year of their BS-MS program and students from colleges in Pune who have completed their core courses at a similar level. If you are interested in working with me on a research problem for your master's thesis, I recommend you first work with me on a semester project during your 4th year. You may write to me with your interests, a copy of your CV and an academic transcript. If there is an available opportunity, I will get back to you. Due to various constraints, I am not, unfortunately, considering students for summer/winter/short-term projects and students from outside Pune.
I am currently accepting PhD and Integrated PhD students. Entry into our doctoral programme is solely through our departmental PhD/IPhD interviews. We occasionally have a few institute-funded postdoctoral positions open. You may please refer to the IISER Pune Postdoctoral Research Associate page for details.
