This site is to help keep your creative juices flowing while we are out of school. While I initially made this site with my students in mind, it is accessible and here for everyone to use! Hopefully, this will help parents and students that are stuck at home find a creative outlet.
I know transitioning to online learning is a learning curve for all of us, but I'm so happy we are continuing to learn and stay in touch! I will be trying to post new videos showing how to do different projects daily starting on March 24th or 25th (online teaching is new for me too!) These projects will mostly be geared towards my K-4th grade students. As for 7th grade, I will be posting links to different projects that you may enjoy.
There is a page for Mark Twain, Ashmore, and CMS. On the elementary pages will be videos on how to make the projects, an easy to follow lesson plan for each project, pictures of the projects, and different PowerPoints of the books that are read along with each project - as well as most of the other books we've read this school year! On the CMS page, there are links to videos on art, articles on art, presentations on art, and projects for art.
If you have any requests about what you'd like your child to learn to make (or any projects you yourself, 7th graders, would like to make) or any questions, please email me at thompsondar@charleston.k12.il.us. Additionally, please also send me pictures of your students making art/finished projects and I will feature them on the site!
Students, I miss you all so much and can't wait to be making art with you all again!
