Climbing and mathematics both share a poetry of problem-solving. They are a dance with the natural world. To get started dancing, one must trust a path of empirical experimentation to build a productive disposition. Once a rock is sent or a theorem is proven, we can adapt our body language and our learning systems to climb the next peak and enjoy it even better. We thus ecologically interact with language as a medium, not as a means, and it is my belief that from this viewpoint we should holistically integrate the arts in science education.
In my free time, next to climbing, I am also committed to independent experimental music, outsider art and spaces which are guided by DIY-ethics. I share a morpho atelier space in Borgerhout and last august I was artist in residence at Archipel, where I co-organised some events.  I feel convinced that the plurality of all these activities creates a lot of symbiotic energy in me and that they are rather complementary.
