"Every artist was first an amateur." – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hi, I’m Angela Dixon! I’m a watercolor artist living in Texas. I was born in Kansas, but my family moved to Texas when I was 4, so I’ve spent most of my life on the open, sunny South Plains.
I grew up in the country, just outside the city. My grandparents lived next door, and together we had a garden and raised chickens, goats, and cows. (Yes—goats really do try to eat everything.)
My parents cheered on my love for art and music. I played the viola for years, joined the Youth Symphony Orchestra, and even won a few competitions. Art has always been a part of my life, but it took a break while I raised my kids. Then, in 2011, I started collecting art supplies again… and, well, let’s just say it turned into a big collection. No regrets!
Today, I paint buildings, flowers, landscapes, and sometimes abstract art when my brain wants to “paint outside the lines.” I’m also working on my illustration and design degree, with the dream of creating children’s book illustrations.
In 2023, I started a nonprofit because life is short, and art brings joy—not just to me, but to everyone who experiences it. Starting my social media account showed me how many amazing artists are out there, and it pushed me to create a welcoming space for other creatives to learn, share, and grow.
I love telling stories through color and detail, and I’m passionate about making art that feels warm, inviting, and full of life. Whether you’re here to support my work, buy art, or collaborate, I’m glad you’re here. Let’s create something beautiful together.
