Overview:

YASN is a non-governmental organization's community network. Founded in 2014 and committed to bridging the gap between art and science. We are an organization dedicated to developing art-science intersections. We are building a shared community space for artists, scientists, and other individuals interested in how art and science can be combined with each other across both the artistic and scientific fields.

Mission:

Our mission is to promote the exchange of ideas and integrated perspectives in both the artistic and scientific fields. We aim to provide a joint platform for artists, scientists, and professionals from different backgrounds to work together on the diverse array of collaborative projects, innovative activities, and the use of technology. We achieve our mission by partnering with organizations, institutions, and individuals to create new points of access through our programs of art-science events, workshops, talks, and exhibitions.

Management:

Shehab A. Karman

Shehab A. Karman is the board chairman, co-founder and CEO of the Yemeni Arts and Science Network. In that role, Karman managed the day-to-day operations of the network, focusing his efforts on advancing the YASN’s mission to support both the artistic and scientific fields and access to the arts and science for all!

Since his major years in engineering at Sana'a University, Karman started thinking of the idea of building the gap between arts and science. He has pushed to make the YASN more accessible to the Yemeni community.

Karman is an Internet and civil society activist, and a painting/drawing artist from Yemen. He is engaged in youth, culture, human rights, internet policy, and SDGs through his work and activity. His knowledge and genuine love for the arts and science are rooted at most levels. He understands the power of arts and science, as he witnesses that power every day!
