Overview for Summer term .
Year 6: Scenery painting and prop making Clay work
Children will paint and build scenes and props for the up coming production.
Children will use to make a small pot and decorate in personalized style.
Year 5: Colour blending using different shades and tints. Landscape weaving
Children will use learn about shades and tints of colours, they will create an abstract paint in the style of a famous artist
Children will use a simple loom and a range of different materials to weave a simple landscape.
Year 4: Sea creatures in the style of Romero Britto
Fabric art
Children will learn about Brazilian artist Romero Britto, They will imitate his style in a painting of a sea creature of choice.
children will use fabric crayons and paints to create a landscape.
Year 3: Pattern and colour. Animal patterns using complementary colours.
Clay work making a Roman relief.
Children will learn about complementary colours and where to find them on the colour wheel.
They will paint a background of an animal print that is usually highly camouflaged using complementary colours set off by a black silhouette of the animal.
Children will look at relief art of Roman mythology, they will use salt dough clay to create their own relief picture.
