This Privacy Policy is managed by CaraCo and explains what information ArtQuest VR (“the App”) collects, how it is used, and how you can request deletion of any user data. This Policy applies to the App as distributed on Meta Quest headsets.
We do not collect, store, or sell personal data.
No account or login.
No analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs integrated by us.
No collection of names, email addresses, payment information, precise location, contacts, or biometric data.
On-device caches only.
The App may temporarily cache artwork images and settings locally on your device to improve performance. These caches are not transmitted to us and can be removed by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App (see “How to Delete Your Data” below).
Third-party network requests (service provision only).
To display artworks, the App makes network requests from your device to publicly available image hosts (e.g., Wikimedia Commons) and to platform services required for Meta Quest operation. When your device connects to those services, standard technical data such as your IP address, device type, and request headers may be seen by those third-party services. CaraCo does not receive or store this information.
If you use optional features such as audio narration, the App may make additional requests to platform services to retrieve audio content. These requests are processed by the service provider; we do not receive personal data.
Because we do not collect personal data, we do not use it for profiling, advertising, or analytics. Limited on-device data (e.g., cached images, your last selected gallery filters) is used solely to:
Render artworks and labels in VR.
Improve load performance during your current and subsequent sessions.
We do not share data with third parties except as technically necessary to fetch and display artworks and platform resources (see “Third-party Services” above).
We do not maintain user accounts or servers containing your data. To remove local data:
Uninstall the App from your Meta Quest device (this removes cached images and local settings).
If available on your headset, you may alternatively clear the App’s data via device settings.
If you have questions or believe the App may have stored personal data, contact us at drcarademono@gmail.com and we will respond promptly. If your request concerns data visible to a third-party service (e.g., Wikimedia servers or Meta platform services), we will direct you to the appropriate controller and assist where possible.
We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the App’s design and the minimal data it handles:
Data minimization: No personal data collection; on-device caches only.
Encryption in transit: All artwork and label fetches occur over HTTPS when provided by the source.
Platform sandboxing: The App operates within the Quest application sandbox; it does not access data from other apps.
No persistent identifiers by us: We do not generate or store user identifiers.
Dependency review: External libraries are limited to those required to render VR content and fetch public-domain artwork.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not collect personal data from children (or anyone else).
If we materially change what we collect or how we use data, we will update this Policy and the Effective date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
Questions about privacy or data deletion requests: drcarademono@gmail.com
Summary: ArtQuest VR is designed to display public-domain artworks in VR without collecting personal data. Any network requests are made directly from your device to necessary services for the sole purpose of delivering content, and we do not receive or retain personal information.
