Open Lab Day!
On December 13, 2024, ARTLab held an Open Lab event for prospective graduate students. The goal was to provide a hands-on learning experience and introduce the lab’s research in radioactive waste management.
The lab focuses on topics such as the back-end nuclear fuel cycle, radionuclide treatment, solidification/immobilization, radioactive waste disposal, and AIMD (Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics) simulations.
The event featured research presentations, equipment demonstrations, and an engaging Q&A session. It effectively showcased the lab’s work and connected with students interested in future research opportunities.
Participation in the 2024 Fall Conference of the Korean Radioactive Waste Society
From October 30 to November 1, 2024, we participated in the 2024 Fall Conference of the Korean Radioactive Waste Society in Gyeongju. The event gathered experts from Korea and abroad to share the latest research in radioactive waste management.
Our graduate students, Hyolee Kim and Sehyun Cho, presented poster studies:
Hyolee Kim: Role of Getters in Preventing Tc Leaching in Radioactive Waste Disposal – A Review
Sehyun Cho: Evaluation of Stability and Performance of Solidification Materials for Safe Disposal – A Review
Their work offered valuable insights into safe disposal methods and received strong interest from attendees. The conference was a great opportunity to engage with ongoing research and innovations in the field.
