Eckehard Fuchs
Eckehard Fuchs è nato nel 1975 a Alzenau/Wasserlos, vicino a Francoforte in quella che era allora la Germania Ovest. Dopo la riunificazione, studia pittura alla prestigiosa Accademia di Dresda, e viene subito selezionato nella Biennale di Praga nella sezione “Nuova Pittura Tedesca” (2005)
Dal 2013 comincia un percorso fitto di mostre personali e collettive, ma soprattutto di residenze artistiche che gli permettono di confrontarsi con panorami culturali diversi, viaggiando dall’Italia al Giappone, dalla Francia ai Paesi Bassi, sperimentando in ogni luogo approcci pittorici diversi.
La sua ricerca pittorica indaga e spinge i confini tra figurazione e astrazione, fra pittura e scultura, spostando il colore nello spazio e liberando la pittura dalla sua tradizionale bidimensionalità.
Eckehard Fuchs was born in 1975 in Alzenau/Wasserlos, close to Frankfurt in the former West Germany. After the Reunification of Germany, he studied painting by the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, and was immediately selected by the Prague Biennale in the section “New German Painting” (2005)
From 2013 he has been showing his works in personal and collective exhibitions, taking part at the same time to many art-residency- projects: travelling from Italy to Japan, from France to Netherlands he had the chance to explore different cultures and turn his experiences in pictorial experimentations.
His painting questions and shakes the boundaries between figurative art and abstraction, between painting itself and sculpture, moving colours from canvas to space and eventually breaking the confinement of painting to its traditional bidimensionality.
