I am a self-taught artist residing in Kameeldrift East.
As a child, I always wanted to draw. People, and especially faces, intrigued me. I spent hours in my room paging through art books and magazines and loved to sketch my favourite celebrities.
Being a mom of three, I had little time to explore my artistic interests when I was younger. I always stayed in touch with my creative side and enjoyed crafty hobbies like mosaic and cake decorating.
About 15 years ago I joined a group of artist friends who painted together regularly.
I have no formal art education and learn so much from these aspiring artists. Here I discovered the wonderful possibilities of oil colours and the boldness of charcoals.
Today these are still my mediums of choice.
As my confidence grew, I painted more and more. I started to showcase my work at local exhibitions and flea markets. I feel honoured to have been commissioned for many portraits and paintings. Currently, my art is also being displayed at selected local venues and coffee shops.
My preferred subjects are still people and faces, especially beautiful women. I am inspired by everything vintage, and I love the colour blue. My work is playful and bright with bold brushstrokes, and I have a painterly art style. I paint things as I see it, and want to uplift others through my art.
I am the proud owner of a small art school - LindyLu Art School - and love teaching other creative minds. There is so much to learn, to explore and to do. It is a privilege to share what I know.
Art is part of my being, and I cannot imagine my life without it.
