I have searched a lot on this topic on the forums but have not been successful yet. I saw that I can do this by configuring a proxy server through Jenkins, but I have an artifactory, do I need to set up a proxy server in addition to this?

I have setup "Enable Artifactory trigger" on my jenkins job. The job gets triggered automatically whenever there is an update in the artifactory path. The trigger job output provides the artifact that triggered the build. What i need is to parse the artifact and use as an environment variable?

I am new to Jenkins aand Artifactory. I am using Artifactory 3.0.4 and Jenkins 1.535 and I try to create a free-style software project. Need to deploy the artifact into Artifactory repository by Jenkins. I use default user id and pwd for artifactory. Both Artifactory and Jenkins run as window service with default local system account.

Firstly, in system configuration, the artifactory server shall be put into url, and click the Test Connection, it shall return something like "Found Artifactory 3.0.3". If this doesn't work, you need check user/passwd and network connection. You can try in command line in that server

As of now jenkins official plugins repo(updates.jenkins.io) is pulling most of the plugins from updates.jenkins-ci.org and few other remote locations.

So even if we try to mirror the jenkins plugins repo, it is just grabing the metadata information (from where to download) from it and downloading it from the remote locations and Here the requirement is something like Artifactory should be having some mechanism to cache and store all the plugins which are getting fetched irrespective of the remote location.

Any idea why -base/how-to-configure-artifactory-as-an-internal-jenkins-update-site/ has suddenly dissapeared? Think it had a low-resolution screenshot, but please can this knowledgebase article be re-added. Otherwise if either of you could post a few bullets explaining how to configure this remote repo in Artifactory, it would be much appreciated.

I don't think that this issue is resolved. The knowledge base entry -base/how-to-configure-artifactory-as-an-internal-jenkins-update-site/ doesn't describe how to integrate the remote jenkins-plugins repository into jenkins. The artifactory Jenkins plugins is not for manage the jenkins-plugins.

Check if Jenkins is actually receiving your Artifactory events by setting up a Jenkins log. Navigate to the logs menu (Manage Jenkins -> System Log), set up a new recorder (Add new log recorder), name it what you will and add org.jenkinsci.plugins.gwt to its loggers. If Artifactory is configured correctly, and the spirits of enterprise networking are kind, you should be seeing your events roll in.

We are using the maven-publish plugin in our build-scripts and have ended up with a shared init.gradle (for the common stuff) so we can at-least build and publish from our local machines. Apparently the Jenkins-plugin generates an init-script that configures the artifactory gradle-plugin so the only option we see right now is to add our init.gradle to Jenkins (in place of the Jenkins plugin) and maybe(?) change it to use the artifactory plugin for publications. Even though we probably can solve the resolution issue by adding a virtual repo to the Artifactory we still face the issue of how to get the credentials in place without having them shown in plain text.

In our company we have several jenkins-build-jobs for each project. SNAPSHOTs are pushed to artifactory by CI-Builds while RELEASEs are pushed by Stable-Builds. A big difference between them is that CI-Builds are building git master and are run automatically while Stable-Builds are building tags and are triggered manually.

Edit: I believe that this is caused because the custom build plugin builds containers from the index.docker.io/v1/, where I would need to change this location to point towards my artifactory. However, it is not clear on how to change the registry I would need to pull from using the build plugin (it states it can build from a private registry)

We are using a Windows server virtual machine as a base for the Artifactory service to run. To install Artifactory, all you need to do is open the downloaded archive, go to %ARTIFACTORY_HOME%\bin and execute the file artifactory.bat.

Enter the URL to the feed. We have a local instance of Artifactory listening on port 8041 with a repository called NuGet, so the URL is  :8041/artifactory/api/nuget/NuGet.

Posted on May 20, 2020 by Adrian Wyssmann ‐ 3 min read jenkins ci Jenkins is a very popular ci solution and offer a lot of extensibility by plugins. However, updating these plugins while you are sitting behind a corporate firewall. I explain you what is the issue and how we solve it.

One solution I have implemented is to modify the hosts file on the Jenkins host to point to the artifact repo when querying updates.jenkins-ci.org. However this requires a reverse proxy in front of your artifact repo.

Once the Jenkins Artifactory plugin is installed and configured, the next step is to create a new Jenkins job that uses the plugin. For this example, we will create a new Jenkins freestyle project named jenkins-artifactory-integration that pulls from this GitHub repository.

2. After I pushed a image to artifactory registry, via Jenkins deployment but there is an error with : DENIED: Permission "artifactregistry.repositories.downloadArtifacts" denied on resource "projects/PROJECTNAME/locations/LOCATION/repositories/REPONAME" (or it may not exist) 17dc91bb1f
