The Arthur Center Church of God was originally started as a local community church that met in the Arthur Town Hall in the late 1800s or early 1900s. They had been meeting for several years when they decided to join the Churches of God Conference. The church building was started in the 1940s and was finished in 1949. It was then remodeled and added to in 1984. Through the years the church has been a beacon for the community, hosting many events and providing for those in need.
