Description:

Welcome to the Learn to Paint course an introduction to painting, hosted by Geed Saputra, a brief introduction to art and the art of painting.

In this class you will be taught the fundamentals of the painting process including sketching, colour theory, brush & paint techniques and shading which will culminate in a final painted still-life project.

Each weekly session introduces a different element of the process and gives real-world insight into art and painting.

Class Objectives:

This program is designed to build a basic understanding of art theory and hands-on practice in multiple mediums such as pencil, watercolor and acrylic. From this course you can begin to build a better idea of a preferred artistic discipline to further nourish your creative life.

Students will be introduced to

Pencils & Drawing
Shading
Colours and colour mixing
Painting and techniques
Paper and canvas

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this class, participants will start to have an understanding of the artistic painting process from theory, conceptual and practical angles. It will give an insight into the next steps of an artistic journey.

Materials - all supplied

Pencils & paper
Acrylic paints
Various brushes (flat, round, detail, and fan brushes)
Canvas boards or watercolor paper
Palette knives (for texture work)
Paint palettes and water containers
Aprons and paper towels

Additional Notes:

No prior painting experience is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring their creativity and enthusiasm to class.
Students should wear clothes they don't mind getting a little messy.

Step by step

Session 1

Introduction to fundamentals

Task:

Orientation to course Overview o

Understanding pencils &.drawing
Making a simple sketch using a pencil.

Session 2

Exploring Colours and brush techniques

Task:

Color theory (primary, secondary, and complementary) and principles of composition.
Basic techniques (brushing, layering, blending).
Mixing colors and creating a palette. Drawing a simple composition.

Session 3

Composition and Personal Style Development

Task:

Developing ideas for a painting; the importance of concepts.
- Abstract
- Realistic
- stylised
Creating a painting plan, including sketches and colors to be used.

Session 4

Applying all you have learnt into a final artwork

Task:

Applying all techniques and concepts that have been learned to complete the final painting.

Reflection on the learning process and planning for the next steps.

Full payment is required before commencement of classes.

Refund Policy

If an attendee cancels prior to 24hrs before the commencement of a booked class/session then a 50% refund will be given. If cancellation is requested within 24hrs of commencement then no refund will be given. If a class/session is cancelled then an option is available to either receive a full refund or credit is given to attend any other class/session provided by Art Haus at the same value of the initial class/session.

Kebijakan pengembalian dana

Jika peserta mengkonfirmasi pembatalan kelas 24 jam sebelum kelas diselenggarakan maka akan mendapatkan pengembalian 50% dari dana yang sudah dibayarkan. Jika peserta melakukan pembatalan dihari kelas diselenggarakan atau setelah kelas dilaksanakan maka peserta tidak mendapatkan pengembalian dana. Apabila terjadi pembatalan kelas oleh penyelenggara maka akan mendapatkan pengembalian dana penuh atau dana dapat ditukarkan untuk kelas yang lain dengan nilai yang sama.
