dx- Lettering in Photoshop

Text effects in Photoshop are easy to produce but can make powerful visual statements.

Some of the techniques may be new, so follow along as best you can-

Go to this list (or any other list you can find) and pick out 3 different text effects and use your name/nickname as the copy. Do an easy one, a medium one, and a more difficult one...don't just choose the quick and easy ones.

Then pick a text effect from those 3 (or other, or create your own!) just for this and combine with your "Cantaloupe Chef" to make a TV show title screen/poster like you see on the Netflix or other streaming site.  Use the background of your choice. Place the finished poster in the Cantaloupe Chef folder.  Save the other text effects on a single JPG to upload to the proper D2L dx folder when you are done.

These don't take long (you should be able to do them under an hour) but I hope they give you some idea of the power you are developing for graphic innovation!!

These effects can be used for everything from Movie Posters to web page sigs (signature headers) and app title screens.  Add this power to upcoming tutorials on abstracts and grunge and you can pretty much do any type/background treatment.

dx- Layer Styles

The power of non-destrutive editing using Layer Styles can create more than just cool text effects, but actual 3D looking objects and interfaces. So many in-depth tutorials but do this single one, and customize your own vanity plate!
