I’m an elementary school librarian living in Central Square with my husband, two energetic sons, and three mischievous cats.
Books are basically my life—I’m obsessed with them, along with cats and, surprisingly, cows.
I tend to prefer fiction over reality, which probably explains why I’ve found a creative outlet turning old books into art.
It’s my way of blending my love for stories with a crafty side that keeps me inspired and grounded.
Nine years ago, I spotted a folded book that spelled out “Read” in a public library. I wanted one for my school library too, but instead of buying it, I decided to try making one myself. My first attempt wasn’t perfect—though you could tell what I was aiming for, it took practice to get better. Since then, I’ve expanded my craft, creating all kinds of book art. This creative process not only supports my mental health but also gives used books a second chance, keeping them out of landfills and turning them into meaningful pieces.
