Paint with wool instead of paint! This kit makes it easy for anyone—yes, even total beginners—to create a soft, textured picture using colorful wool fibers.
Your kit comes with everything you need:
A small embroidery hoop with fabric already stretched and a pre-drawn design
Pre-dyed wool roving in gorgeous colors
A felting needle for shaping and securing the wool
A foam base to protect your work surface while you poke
It’s relaxing, mess-free, and surprisingly addictive. The result? A soft, touchable work of art you’ll be proud to display.
Before you begin: Lay the foam base on your table. Place the hoop (fabric side up) on top so you have a safe surface to poke into.
Fluff your wool
Gently pull small tufts from the roving—think wispy clouds, not big chunks.
Place your first color
Follow the pre-drawn lines on the fabric. Lay the wool on the area you want that color. It’s okay if it overlaps the lines a bit—wool blends beautifully.
Poke to attach
Holding the felting needle straight up and down, poke repeatedly through the wool and fabric into the foam. This tangles the fibers together and secures them to the fabric.
Tip: Keep your other hand well out of the way—those needles are sharp!
Build up color & texture
Add more tufts of wool as needed for thicker, richer color. You can blend two colors by layering thin wisps and poking until they mix.
Fill in the design
Work section by section, starting with background areas and finishing with smaller details.
Tidy up edges
Use the needle to gently push stray fibers back inside the lines and poke them down so your edges are crisp.
Display your masterpiece
Leave it in the hoop for a ready-to-hang frame, or pop it out to use in another craft.
