Who's the Maker?

Welcome to Arte Tejido PR

PR stands for Puerto Rico the island where I was born.

My name is Carmen Eliz Acosta Báez. Industrial engineer from Puerto Rico and a crochet certified artisan. Since a little kid I loved doing crafts with my grandma. On every summer vacation we used to spend time with grandma doing different crafts.

On 2015 I started taking knitting and crochet classes. My favorite technique was crochet, so I decided to focus on that one. My first crochet project was a Snowman amigurumi*. The pattern used is available on Lion Brand.

With lots of effort, practice and dedication, I started writing patterns to create my own Amigurumi yarn pieces. After 3 years, I decided to get certified as an artisan at Fomento Industrial Company at Puerto Rico. I love making this projects.

*Amigurumi meaning from wikipedia - crocheted or knitted stuffed toy.
