Dr. Alex Saragoza returns for another installment of his discussions, this time the period of the 1980s and 1990. 1-2 pm Guided Tour

2-4pm Platica

Plus an opportunity to submit histories and photos for the archive

Through sound and images, this Plática shines a spotlight on Radio Bilingüe, from its roots in the Chicano movement and launch in 1980, to its development as a Fresno-based national Latino public radio network with transnational reach.

Radio Bilingüe will share why it developed quality journalism focused on Latinos and how, to this date, it provides a unique platform to amplify and preserve the voices and perspectives of Latinos in the San Joaquín Valley and beyond. We’ll also highlight voices that are part of Radio Bilingüe’s historical archives, including Josefina Fierro, Judge Armando Rodríguez, Bert Corona and Lalo Guerrero.
