DECEMBER 2025 NEWSLETTER
Arte in Motion is established and now completing its 501(c)(3) registration with the State of Oregon. This next chapter is about purpose, direction, and long-term solutions for our community. As we finalize our 501(c)(3) status, we’re preparing to receive grants, donations, and community investment to scale this work across the Portland-Metro area. More updates will be shared early 2026.
The last few months have been incredibly meaningful for Arte in Motion!
This summer, we officially completed our first bilingual after-school pilot program in partnership with Echo Shaw Elementary School, and I couldn't be more proud of what our students created.
Throughout the pilot, students experienced the full creative process from beginning to end. They wrote and recorded their own original songs, explored poetry and storytelling, created vision boards, collaborated with one another, filmed music videos, and discovered new ways to express who they are through music, movement, and visual art.
What stood out most wasn't just the final projects. It was watching students become more confident in their own creative voices. Every student approached the work differently. Some found themselves through songwriting, others through movement, visual storytelling, collaboration, or simply having the space to create on their own terms. That kind of creative autonomy is exactly what Arte in Motion was built to cultivate.
The success of this pilot reaffirmed something I've believed for a long time: when young people are trusted with meaningful creative opportunities, they consistently rise to meet them.
As we continue growing, I'm excited to share that Arte in Motion will be expanding our after-school programming this fall in partnership with Forest Grove School District.
What's Next?
This FALL, we'll be launching dance-centered programming at Neil Armstrong Middle School and Tom McCall Upper Elementary in Forest Grove.
These programs are designed to expand access to quality dance education while giving students opportunities to learn choreography, build confidence, strengthen teamwork, and experience the joy of movement in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Whether a student has years of dance experience or is stepping into a "studio" for the very first time, they will have a place to belong, create, and grow.
This expansion is another exciting step toward our vision of making culturally responsive arts education more accessible to youth throughout our community.
Thank you to every student, family, educator, and community partner who believed in this pilot and helped bring it to life. This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to share what's next.
