This app is built so that the personal things you write stay on your device. This policy explains exactly what leaves your phone, what does not, and who can see it. It covers the iOS app Art of War: Daily Discipline and its home-screen widget.
THE SHORT VERSION
- We do not ask for an account, an email address, or your name.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
- Your journal entries, reflections and Counsel conversations are never uploaded to us.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Your war journal, your reflections, your streak, your rank, your chosen battlefields and your campaign progress are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud account so it is available on your other devices. That data lives in your personal iCloud container. We have no access to it, and we cannot read it.
The Counsel runs entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. The situations you describe are processed locally and are not sent to us or to any third party. There is no server involved.
Notifications (the morning briefing, streak reminders) are scheduled locally on your device. Promotional notifications are off unless you explicitly turn them on in Settings.
WHAT IS PROCESSED BY THIRD PARTIES
Apple (App Store) receives your purchase and subscription status, to process payment and verify that your subscription is active. Apple never shares your payment details with us.
RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID, plus the purchase receipt and subscription status. This manages your subscription and restores it when you reinstall or move to a new device. It is not linked to your name or email.
TelemetryDeck receives anonymous usage events (for example: a screen was opened, a stratagem was sealed) with a client-side hashed identifier. This shows which parts of the app are used, so it can be improved. TelemetryDeck does not use the IDFA and does not enable cross-app tracking.
None of these receive your journal entries, your reflections, or anything you write to the Counsel.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
- Analytics: usage analytics are anonymous and not tied to an identity we can look up.
- Promotional notifications: off by default; turn them on or off any time under Settings.
- Your content: deleting the app removes its local data. To remove synced data, delete the app's data from iCloud in your device's iCloud settings.
- Subscription: manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful basis for processing the limited data above is legitimate interest in operating and improving the app, and performance of a contract for subscription management. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
CHANGES
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page will change and the new version will be published here before it takes effect.
