Welcome to Art of Reading Mind (the App, we, us, or our). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle information when you use our application.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use that information, how we share or disclose that information, your rights and choices, and how to contact us.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We do not require you to create an account or register with us. However, the App may collect the following when you interact with it:
Imported PDF Files: When you use the Import Book feature, PDF files you select from your device storage are copied into the App's private internal storage. We do not upload or transmit these files to any external server.
App Ratings and Feedback: If you submit a star rating and/or written feedback through the in-app review dialog, that data is sent to our backend server for service improvement purposes.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically (On-Device Only)
The App automatically collects the following data locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data is stored only on your device and is never shared unless explicitly stated:
Last reading page number - to resume reading from where you left off.
Reading streak (current streak, last reading date) - for the habit tracking feature.
Total reading days and daily pages average - for reading statistics and estimates.
Dark mode preference - to remember your display theme setting.
PDF night mode and pagination mode preference - for reading experience settings.
PDF page count - for estimating reading progress.
Premium status flag - for controlling ad display behavior.
2.3 Device and Usage Information via Third-Party SDKs
We integrate third-party SDKs that may automatically collect device and usage information. Please refer to Section 5 for full details.
3. Permissions We Request
The App requests the following Android permissions:
INTERNET: Required to load books, categories, authors, and featured content from our servers. Also required for displaying ads and push notifications.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To check network connectivity before making API calls and ad requests.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only): To allow importing PDF books from device storage.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only): To allow saving imported PDF books to device.
Note: On Android 13 and above, storage permissions are handled through the scoped storage model. We only access files you explicitly select via the system file picker.
4. How We Use the Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
To provide core app functionality: Display books, categories, authors, featured content, and curated reading lists fetched from our servers.
To enable offline reading: PDF files you import are saved to private internal storage so you can read without an internet connection.
To personalize your experience: Save your reading progress, preferences such as dark mode and pagination, and habit tracking data.
To improve our services: Anonymous usage analytics and ad event logs help us understand how the app performs and how to improve it.
To display advertisements: We show ads including banner, interstitial, and app-open ads to non-premium users. Ad display is managed via our ad partner SDKs.
To send push notifications: OneSignal sends you relevant notifications such as reading reminders and new content announcements. You can opt out at any time through your device notification settings.
To track reading habits: We calculate and store your reading streak, total reading days, and average daily pages locally on your device to motivate consistent reading habits.
5. Third-Party Services and SDKs
We integrate the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
5.1 Google Firebase Analytics
Purpose: App usage analytics and crash reporting.
Data Collected: Device identifiers, app usage events, crash logs.

5.5 Retrofit and OkHttp (Network Library)
Purpose: Communicating with our backend API to fetch book content, categories, authors, and analytics.
Note: This is a networking library and does not independently collect user data. All API calls are made to our own backend servers.
5.6 Glide (Image Loading Library)
Purpose: Loading and caching book cover images.
Note: Images are cached temporarily on device for performance. No personal data is collected.
5.7 Room Database (Local SQLite)
Purpose: Storing your imported books list and bookmarks locally on your device.
Note: This data stays on your device and is never transmitted externally.
6. Data Storage and Security
6.1 On-Device Storage
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to external servers:
Imported PDF book files stored in the app's private internal directory.
Reading preferences and settings stored in SharedPreferences.
Reading streak and statistics stored in SharedPreferences.
Bookmarks stored in the Room local database.
Imported books list stored in the Room local database.
6.2 Server-Side Storage
The following data may be transmitted to and stored on our backend servers:
App ratings and written feedback you voluntarily submit.
Ad event logs which are anonymous and include ad type, event type, ad unit ID, and error messages.
Book interaction stats such as view count, likes, and copy text actions. These are anonymous and contain no personal identifiers.
6.3 Security Measures
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information including app private internal storage that is not accessible to other apps, HTTPS and TLS encrypted network communication, and no collection of sensitive personal data such as name, email, phone, or location.
7. Data Retention
Imported PDF files are stored on your device internal storage until you delete the book or uninstall the app.
Reading preferences and streak data are stored in SharedPreferences until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Bookmarks are stored in the local Room database until you delete them or uninstall the app.
App feedback and ratings submitted to our servers are retained as long as needed for service improvement.
Ad event logs on our servers are retained for up to 12 months for analytics purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used this App and provided personal information, please contact us at tycoongames59@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access: Request information about what data is stored about you.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. Most data such as preferences and imported books can be deleted by clearing the app data through device settings or uninstalling the app.
Opt-out of Ads Personalization: Through your device's Google settings.
Opt-out of Push Notifications: Through your device's notification settings.
Opt-out of Analytics: Contact us to request exclusion from analytics tracking.

10. Advertising and Premium Users
Free Users
Free users see advertisements including banner ads displayed on various screens, interstitial ads which are full-screen ads shown after every few navigation actions, and app open ads shown when the app is launched or resumed. These ads are served by Google AdMob and may use your Advertising ID for personalized ad targeting.
Premium Users
Premium users do not see advertisements. The premium status is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences and is synchronized from our backend API.
11. Internet Connectivity and API Usage
The App connects to our backend server to load home screen content including featured books, categories, authors, and curated collections, to search books by title, author, or keyword, to fetch book details and library content, to submit user ratings and feedback, and to log anonymous ad performance events.
All communications use encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not sell or share any API data with unauthorized third parties.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this document and notify you through the App or via push notification where appropriate.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
