An Austrian Rockband  

(1969-1975)

"Mostrocker" Gerhard Egger and drummer H. J. Holz  met in a student session in Linz and startet their Beatband with a stylemixing flower-power sound. The singles were on heavy rotation on the Austrian Hit-Radio Ö3 and the song "Jesus said" entered the Top 3 in the Austrian Discparade. 

The Art Boys recorded there one and only album "Stoned Wall" in 1971/72. During the recording they changed the sound to a stylemixing progressiv rock. Organ player Walter Holz got problems with journalists from the Austrian Radio Broadcasting and the band was banned by them.

 Gerhard Egger left the band and Hubert Perfahl came as his follower. Before he quit, Egger finished the recording of the album "Stoned Wall" as songwriter, singer and guitarplayer. The Art Boys continued and played opening stages for Golden Earring and Deep Purple. The band finally disbanded 1972 and stopped playing live in several formations in 1975.

Eine österreichische Rockband 

(1969-1975)

„Mostrocker“ Gerhard Egger und H. J. Holz trafen sich 1969 auf einer Studentensession in Linz. Sie gründeten ABC als eine Beatband mit stilmixenendem Flower-Power-Sound. Mit vier Singles liefen sie auf Heavy Rotation im österreichischen Hitsender Ö3. Mit „Jesus said“ erreichten sie die Top3 der damaligen Ö3-Discparade und gingen mit Waterloo & Robinson, Milestones, Worried Man Skiffle Group u.a auf Tour. 

Nach einem Streit von Organist Walter Holz mit Rundfunkverantwortlichen wurden sie danach aus den Programmen verbannt. Während der Produktion ihres einzigen Albums „Stoned Wall“ (1971/72) stellten sie ihren Sound auf stilmixenden Progressiv-Rock um. 

Gerhard Egger, Sänger, Gitarrist und Songwriter der Band, verließ nach der Produktion des Longplayers die Gruppe und wurde durch Hubert Perfahl ersetzt. Danach spielte ABC noch im Vorprogramm von Deep-Purple und Golden Earring. 1975 löste sich die Band endgültig auf.
