The goal of this Conference is to build capacity and create awareness on the latest trends in biotechnology for improving health, agriculture and the environment in Bangladesh.

With the theme, "Biotechnology for future leadership', the first National Biotechnology Summer School, organised by National Institute of biotechnology (NIB) and Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh, was held at Chattogram. Twenty-seven universities and twenty-five organisations from Bangladesh participated in the event.
Students were trained on leadership, communication, team management, research methodology, idea generation, genome sequencing, using biotechnology against climate change, time management, computational biology and alternate careers. Fourty top scientists, academicians, journalists, leaders, and researchers trained the students.
