I am an ecologist broadly interested in the mechanisms that generate and sustain biodiversity. My research focuses on understanding how ecological systems assemble and persist across time and space by linking multiple levels of biological organization. Overall, I aim to develop predictive frameworks that can guide the management and restoration of biodiversity in the face of global change.
To achieve these goals, I use an integrative approach, combining fieldwork with analytical tools from graph theory, simulations and mathematical models. While I primarily use mutualistic interactions as a model system—given their standing as the cornerstone of many ecological systems and their critical role in ecosystem functioning—my research has broader applications across ecological interactions.
