Arrowhead Home and School Association
AHSA is a non-profit organization which sponsors a variety of activities and programs that provide your children with education and social development opportunities throughout the school year. These programs include class trips, Reading is Fundamental (RIF), Art Goes to School, Family Nights, special assemblies, Fun Day, and Field Day. AHSA also uses funds to purchase additional items not allocated by the district budget, but used by our faculty and students such as art supplies, gym equipment, and homework assignment books.
AHSA sponsored programs are not possible without volunteers. We have many opportunities for you to become involved during the school day or at after school events. Volunteer and set a wonderful example for your child, make new friends, meet teachers and staff, and get to know your child’s friends.
AHSA meetings are the first Monday of each month (alternating between day and evening times). Everyone is welcome! If you are a parent or guardian of a student at Arrowhead, you should come to our meetings. You are a part of our community, and the work we do directly affects and benefits your children. It's also a great time to meet other parents in your community.
We discuss and plan how to spend the money we raise. We also discuss programs we fund and how they are working. We discuss events we are planning, volunteer needs, and the status of many programs that we run. In addition, our principal gives an update on school news.
Dates/times can be found on the AHSA Calendar.
AHSA sends all communications through Konstella! It is the only app/site you need for AHSA. It is a private communication platform hosted by the AHSA that connects parents to AHSA, to each other, and to the many communities within our school. You can use Konstella on a computer, tablet or phone. We communicate through weekly newsletter emails via Konstella. It will include our calendar, schedule changes, highlights/pictures from recent events and friendly reminders about future happenings!
Sign up on Konstella so you do not miss out! Select School, input student information, your information and you will be approved! Join your child’s classroom, check out our calendar for meeting and event times, view committees and join some and communicate with our Arrowhead community! It also serves as our school directory! Click on User Guide button in the left navigation for more information.
Making the decision to volunteer your time and talents to the students of the Methacton School District is a very honorable one… and a decision with which we hope you will be pleased.
School volunteers enhance the educational experience in so many ways:
- By helping to ensure that vital programs like music, sports and the arts are available in the school,
- By working as the extra hands, ears, and hearts of teachers whose responsibilities extend to many students,
- By working to ensure the smooth operation of many school activities, we sometimes take for granted – for example, concessions at sporting events, or equipment management at band competitions, and
- By listening, caring, and supporting the most important person in any school – the student.
